WARRICK CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Local leaders in Warrick County are eyeing the idea of implementing a new emergency notification system for the county.

EMA Director Matt Goebel spoke about the issue at the county’s most recent commission meeting.

Goebel says he’s contacted three vendors to look into a mass emergency notification system.

He says a reliable system is essential to saving lives and building community trust.

Sheriff Mike Wilder also spoke about the topic at the meeting.

He says anything they’ve have had people sign up for hasn’t worked the way they intended, which was one of the problems of Code Red.
