LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- A data center could be coming to Howell Township, but the community is divided on whether or not the project should move forward.
Proponents say it would boost the local economy, but others say the negative impacts from the data center would far outweigh the benefits.
The project would take up more than 1,000 acres of land in the township, near Grand River Avenue and Fleming Road. Most of the land is owned by Van Gilder Farms. They say the proposed buyer is a Fortune 100 technology firm that develops, owns and operates technology campuses globally.
