LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)-- The Education Policy Innovation Collaborative (EPIC) at Michigan State University reports Michigan's school funding has begun to recover due to recent educational investments, particularly in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

EPIC highlights the financial landscape for Michigan schools, where, despite recent funding increases, a smaller share of dollars is reaching classrooms compared to previous years, according to the report. Demographic shifts, including a decline in the student population and an increase in students requiring additional resources, have further complicated the financial situation.

"Families feel funding choices in class sizes, course offerings and student supports," said Jason Burns, research specialist at EPIC and lead author of the report. "
