CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is responding after one of their own was arrested over the weekend for a DWI in Montgomery County.
On Sunday, Sept. 21, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle crash in Montgomery County. Officials say CMPD North Division Officer Matt Wilson was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash.

NCSHP found probable cause to charge Wilson with DWI. He was off duty when the incident occurred.
The CMPD Internal Affairs Division is conducting an internal investigation regarding the charges brought against Wilson.
