San Diego’s two nationally ranked community college football teams — Southwestern College and Mesa College — will meet Saturday night on the Olympians’ home field.

Southwestern (4-0) jumped 10 spots to No. 18 in the nation and ninth in California after defeating Mt. San Jacinto 31-10. Mesa College improved to 2-2 with a 28-21 win at Palomar; the Olympians are ranked No. 34 nationally and 22nd in California.

Quarterback Brayten Silbor threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 25 yards and a score against Mt. San Jacinto. Southwestern’s Jamarei Ashby-Phan (15 carries, 68 yards) and Jamar Johnson (10 carries, 60 yards) led the ground attack, while Nic Cline (Torrey Pines High School) caught two passes for 83 yards, including a 65-yard touchdown.
