New Mexico autism experts are responding to President Donald Trump's claims Monday that the use of Tylenol during pregnancy may contribute to rising autism rates in the U.S. , a potential link experts have studied and say is unproven.

Trump advised against the use of acetaminophen throughout the entire pregnancy. He also mentioned that the FDA would move to change the labels on pill bottles to reflect this new guidance, although he did not provide any new evidence to support his claim.

The University of New Mexico, which offers multiple autism programs , told KOAT in a statement:
