MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — Two people in Hamblen County are being charged with animal cruelty after Hamblen County Animal Control found 184 animals, including cats, dogs and livestock living in a home and yard in a subdivision on Friday.
Now, most of the animals have temporary homes, but the Morristown Hamblen Humane Society still has several dogs rescued from the residence.
Carlee Stevenson, the acting director of the Humane Society, said it's one of the worst hoarding cases she's seen. To make things worse, the shelter was already at max capacity when they received a call from animal control requesting help with the hoarding situation.
"We had well over 50, not just here in fosters as well," Stevenson said. "But every kennel that we had was full."
