Entrepreneur Bill Gates says his foundation will give $US912 million ($1.38 billion) to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria as he urged the United States government to reverse funding cuts.
Speaking on Monday, local time, Mr Gates said the world was at a crossroads, with millions of children at risk of dying if funding drops too steeply.
The Gates Foundation's pledge matches its donation in 2022.
That was the last time the Global Fund, a Geneva-based independent non-profit, raised money on its three-year budget cycle.
The announcement followed deep cuts from governments around the world, led by the US.
A study from the US-based Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation found funding had dropped by 14.4 per cent for the nonprofit from 2024 to 2025.
