Western Australian Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas has called for Optus to lose their naming rights for Perth’s oval stadium following a widespread outage linked to the death of four people.
A botched firewall network upgrade triggered an outage about 12.30am on Thursday, impacting more than 600 customers in Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory and NSW who were unable to reach Triple-0 for about 13 hours.
Optus chief executive Stephen Rue revealed on Friday three people had died, which he said was "completely unacceptable".
Now, the CEO has revealed seven more customers than initially thought were implicated.
Mr Zempilas told Perth’s 6PR radio on Monday, Optus does not deserve to have their name splashed over a WA landmark.
“They don’t deserve to have their name
