NEW ORLEANS —

The Louisiana SPCA is putting out a desperate plea for fosters after taking in dozens of animals from another rescue that is closing.

In a statement on Facebook, the agency said, "We are taking in 40 dogs from a local rescue that is closing its doors, and we need fosters and adopters immediately!" Advertisement

The LASPCA says it is already at capacity and urgently needs the community's help to make space and ensure every pup receives the care and happy home they deserve.

For those who want to register to be a foster, you can email the foster team at foster@laspca.org.

For those interested in adopting, you can visit the LASPCA at 1700 Mardi Gras Boulevard. Hours during the week are 12 to 5 p.m.

You can call 504-368-5191 for more information.
