"When I die, Assam should sing this song," Zubeen Garg had said about 'Mayabini' when it was released as part of the 2001 Assamese film Daag . On Tuesday, as Assam's "favourite rockstar" was cremated with state honours and a 21-gun salute, hundreds of thousands of his fans sang lines from 'Mayabini'– the song Garg cherished the most amidst his plethora of albums.

Garg's cremation was held in Kamarkuchi, on the outskirts of Guwahati, after a second autopsy was conducted to rule out any foul play in his death. - Ends
