STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) - An inmate in the Georgia Department of Corrections has been sentenced after officials were made aware that he had made and mailed two bombs while incarcerated.

David Dwayne Cassady, 57, has been sentenced to 80 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to two counts of attempted malicious use of explosive materials.

Investigators found evidence to prove that, while incarcerated in Georgia state prison, Cassady constructed two destructive devices. He then mailed the destructive devices to the United States Courthouse in Anchorage, Alaska and to the Department of Justice in Washington, DC.

After being found guilty, Cassady was sentenced to 480 months' imprisonment on both counts to run consecutively. The sentence is to be followed by a five-year term of court-
