WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A lightning strike caused a fire to spread to a building at Wichita's Spirit AeroSystems on Tuesday. The fire call happened just after 4 a.m.

Joe Buccino, a Spirit AeroSystems spokesman, told KSN News that the building had 30 employees inside at the time, and they were able to get out safely.

Spirit is still assessing the damage to the building to determine whether operations will resume later Tuesday. Buccino said the rest of Spirit's facilities were operating as usual.

Sedgwick County Fire District 1 responded to the call. KSN has reached out to Sedgwick County for comment.
