TEXAS, USA — Some universities in North Texas ranked among the best in the state in the newly released U.S. News college rankings .
The 2026 U.S. News college rankings evaluated more than 1,700 colleges based on a slew of factors including graduation rates, first-year retention rates, graduation rate performance, the proportion of college graduates earning more than a high school graduate, borrower debt, and more. This year, with many schools remaining test optional, SAT and ACT scores were removed as a ranking factor in the Regional Colleges North and Regional Universities North categories. Aside from other slight calculation tweaks, there were no other changes to how U.S. News calculated its ranking this year.
TCU in Fort Worth also rose eight spots to be among the top 100 nationally
