JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. — Jeffersontown residents gathered Monday to hear more information about the proposed rezoning of a quiet neighborhood on Old Taylorsville Road to provide access a new amphitheater, which many said they don't want at all.

For 40-plus years, Ruthie Maier has lived on Old Taylorsville Road. As she walked down her road, she couldn't stop thinking about how the rezoning could change the historical neighborhood she loves so much and her way of life.

“I'm very disturbed by it," she said. "I'm very upset. I think about it every day now ... at this point in my life, at 72, I don't want to start over."

Jeffersontown Mayor Carol Pike said the goal of property rezoning is to improve access to the amphitheater.
