ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) - A suspect accused of throwing a dog on the ground at an Abilene intersection several times, breaking its leg, has been arrested.

Thomas Martin was taken into custody Sunday for Cruelty to Animals in connection to the incident and is now being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Witnesses saw Martin thrown his dog on the ground several times at the intersection of S 7th Street and Arnold Boulevard then walk away, according to an incident report.

The report states the dog did sustain a broken leg and was taken to the vet by animal control.
