Rain is falling steadily in Fort Collins this morning, with a chance of thunderstorms expected throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service forecast, the chance of precipitation is 100% today, with rain easing before midnight.

Temperatures will peak near 55 degrees, while north-northwest winds blow between 9 and 13 miles per hour, gusting as high as 21 mph.

Tonight there is still a 50% chance of rain, but skies will gradually begin to clear, becoming partly cloudy with lows around 45 degrees and lighter winds.

Looking ahead, the wet weather won't last much longer. Wednesday is expected to bring sunny skies, calmer winds and a high near 70 degrees.

Clear and pleasant conditions will continue through the rest of the week, with highs climbing into the low 80s by Friday
