When former NFL MVP Peyton Manning and actor Jeff Daniels combine, good things tend to happen for the Detroit Lions.

Daniels, a longtime Lions fan, joined the “ManningCast” during this week’s Monday Night Football broadcast as Detroit sought to earn a statement win on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.

With the Lions facing a third-and-seven backed up on their own five-yard line, Daniels brought out his guitar and promised to play his song “Curse of Bobby Layne” about the longstanding curse former Lions quarterback Bobby Layne allegedly put on the team after being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1958.
