SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Following a rigorous reaccreditation process, Parks and Recreation has achieved a perfect score by the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).

The CAPRA accreditation process happens every five years.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation, first accredited in 2010, also earned a perfect score in its 2020 review.

Of the nearly 14,000 park and recreation agencies across the country, only around 1% (172 agencies) have earned a perfect score.

The reaccreditation process includes an application, self-assessment, a site visit by trained evaluators, and a formal hearing with the Commission.
