IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A capuchin monkey that escaped from Zootastic Park last week in Troutman is now back home.

A 5-year-old female capuchin monkey escaped from the zoo on September 17 and has been on the road ever since.

On September 23, Iredell County Animal Control officers responded to reports that the monkey had been struck by a vehicle in the Troutman area.

When officers arrived, they confirmed that the animal was still alive. The monkey has since been returned to its owner. At this time, officials do not know about the money's current condition.
