There's a new gorilla baby at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in Ohio.
Officials say 12-year-old Gladys gave birth to a boy on Saturday morning.
This is Gladys’ first baby and things seem to be going well.
Zoo officials say first time moms don’t always know what to do. Gladys came from another zoo in 2013 when she was a baby because her mom’s instincts did not kick in.
Father, 23-year-old Mbeli, is also a first-time parent. The zoo says he will remain fairly hands off but will protect Gladys and the baby within their social group.
Western lowland gorillas are critically endangered in the wild, with fewer than 175,000 individuals.
