Birmingham City will have to jump through some hoops to get Alex Cochrane ready for Coventry City after using a concussion substitute to replace the left-back on Saturday.

Cochrane initially suffered a head injury when colliding with Swansea City winger Ronald during a defensive tussle. Despite blood pouring from Cochrane’s face, the defender was patched up and allowed to continue.

However, as the clock ticked towards 80 minutes, Cochrane stayed down after challenging for a header and required further treatment. At this point it was decided by the medical team after a swift on-field examination that Cochrane would have to be replaced by Eiran Cashin.

The question is now whether Cochrane will be available when Blues travel to the CBS Arena to take on Coventry on Saturday
