COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WWBT) - Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has officially expanded to more of southcentral Virginia in partnership with the Read to Them literacy campaign.
Nandine Marsh-Carter, president of the Cameron Foundation, says that ”the Imagination Library program will help to foster a culture of reading for families across our region.”
With over 6,000 children registered throughout Dinwiddie and Petersburg, the library aims to prosper in Colonial Heights, Prince George, and Sussex County, Read to Them announced. Established in 2004, Read to Them encourages family participation in children’s literacy.
Read to Them’s executive director Chrstina Donohue says that ”building a home library is a vital part of nurturing a love of reading at an early age.”’.
