PARKER COUNTY, Texas — A major accident in Parker County has shut down both southbound and northbound lanes of FM 730 South in Azle Tuesday afternoon, police said.

According to a Facebook post from the Azle Police Department, FM 730 S northbound and southbound lanes are closed from Creekwood Ranch Road to Main Street. The closure, police said, is expected to last for several hours in the 13000 block of FM 730.

Azle Police Chief Bennett Hall told WFAA that a vehicle traveling northbound on FM 730 left its lane and crashed head-on with a vehicle traveling in the southbound lane. Hall said that the driver of the southbound vehicle and a passenger in the northbound vehicle were killed in the crash.
