CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - At a time where more people are turning to local food banks, the White House is pulling the plug on an annual survey tracking hunger in America.

Through the directive of President Donald Trump, the USDA will no longer produce it’s annual Household Food Security Report, which analyzes how many people are struggling to feed themselves and their families.

In it’s announcement on Saturday , the USDA said, “These redundant, costly, politicized, and extraneous studies do nothing more than fear monger.”

This follows Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act over the summer, which increased the work requirements for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
