WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a cyclist last week.
Blake Hughes is charged with failure to stop at an accident; reasonably known result in death.
Around 9 p.m. on Sept. 17, police were called to the area of Broadway and Murdock, where they found 57-year-old Daniel Forshey lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
After interviewing witnesses and reviewing video, investigators determined that Forshey, who was riding a bicycle, had been struck by a white 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 allegedly driven by Hughes. Police say Hughes then fled the scene, driving through a nearby Jump Start parking lot. The following morning, officers located the truck and took Hughes into custody.
