Nets ’ star Cam Thomas admits he was “frustrated” by his recent contract negotiations with the team.

Thomas earlier this month signed a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer for the upcoming season with a full no-trade clause. He signed it after rejecting a two-year, $30 million contract and a one-year, $9.5 million deal. He chose instead to bet on himself.

Thomas will become an unrestricted free agent next summer (2026) when more teams are expected to have cap space.

“Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but, man, everything happens for a reason,” Thomas said Tuesday at Media Day on the YES Network. “So you just gotta come here with the same open mind, just be ready to go....Don’t let all that affect you and how you are around your teammates and everybody else.
