KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A suspect is in custody following a deadly stabbing in Independence late last week.
Officers with the Independence Police Department responded to a reported stabbing just after 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, near East 23rd Street and South Logan Avenue.
When officers arrived, they located the victim, identified as 45-year-old Anthony Myers, with an apparent stab wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide.
The police department announced on Tuesday that a suspect was taken into custody on Monday evening in Independence.
FOX4 is not naming the suspect at this time until formal charges have been filed in Jackson County.
