TOLEDO, Ohio — Local nonprofits are bringing housing concerns to the center of this year’s elections with a public candidate forum set for Wednesday.

The Fair Housing Center, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board are hosting the event, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Downtown Library’s McMaster Center, located at 325 N. Michigan Street.

The forum will feature mayoral and city council candidates discussing affordable housing, homelessness, housing discrimination, lead poisoning and other issues. Organizers said the questions were submitted by the public.
