TOLEDO, Ohio — Despite a final deadline this week for residents to vacate Riverside Mobile Home Park, some tenants remain at the south Toledo site four months after the city declared it " unfit for human habitation ."

The city of Toledo condemned the property on May 23 , citing unsafe conditions. At that time, tenants were given until June 23 to leave. A follow-up notice extended that deadline to Sept. 22.

Officials said the city has since authorized $200,000 for demolition, which will be billed to property owner Ernesto Garcia. Crews have already started clearing debris, but demolition cannot begin until the last households leave.
