FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — After the U.S Department of Agriculture announced it will discontinue future Household Food Security Reports after thirty years, a local nonprofit that helps feed those in need in Northwest Arkansas is losing some of its data, which could impact its long-term planning.
Executive Director Debbie Rambo of the Samaritan Community Center reports a 26% increase in the number of families visiting the center and seeking assistance.
"The work of nonprofits like ours addresses the issues of hunger and food insecurity that is necessary in our ability to write grants or request funding," Rambo said.
