STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- One woman was hoping that channeling Mary Poppins would help convince a Stafford County deputy that she wasn't intoxicated.
On Sept. 21, around 12:40 a.m., a deputy responded to the area of Harrell Road and Forbes Street for a crash. Reports told police that a truck had driven off the road and struck a telephone pole.
He was advised that the driver appeared intoxicated.
The officer arrived to find an F-150 stuck in a ditch. The driver told the officer that she was just a "bad driver" and didn't drink any alcohol. Her speech was slurred and she was unsteady on her feet, police detailed.
To try to prove her sobriety, she tried to say “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
