CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Three people died in an overnight crash involving an ambulance Sunday in Chesapeake, according to Virginia State Police.
The accident happened around 2:35 a.m. on Interstate 464 southbound at Exit 2.
State police say a 2024 Ford Econoline ambulance was traveling south on I-464 when it was struck head-on by a 2022 Lexus Sedan that was traveling north in the southbound lanes. The driver and passenger of the ambulance, owned by Midwest Medical in North Carolina, suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where they later died,
