Police tracking a speeding Mercedes led to the arrest of a man and a woman in Weston on Tuesday, and two children placed in emergency care.

The vehicle, which was identified as stolen, was recovered, and the two adults in the vehicle were charged.

At about 12.15pm on Tuesday, September 23, police received a call from a member of the public reporting a black Mercedes sedan allegedly travelling at a high speed through a school zone.

A short time later, a police team located the sedan parked in a carport in Weston and observed a man and a woman leaving the car. Two children were also found in the rear seat of the Mercedes.

Checks on the car confirmed it had been reported stolen from a home in Forrest in early September, police said.
