One of four men involved in a Queanbeyan cocaine-supply syndicate, that was "ripped off" after handing a "runner" $360,000, was released from jail in error.

In September, the NSW District Court sentenced Andrew Hallam, who was aged 24 and 25 at the time of his crimes, to a three-and-a-half-year jail sentence.

Due to time already spent in custody Hallam was eligible for parole on September 8, 2025, but was erroneously released that day without an order from the State Parole Authority.

A published judgment states that after being informed of the error Hallam surrendered himself to court and was taken back into custody, but it is unknown if he has since been released on parole.
