ELKINS, W.Va. (WBOY) — Elkins Middle School hosted a drug awareness assembly on Tuesday, featuring father and daughter Ray and Dahlia Lozano, who broke down the science of nicotine to students.

The duo explained to students that nicotine is a poison that the plant creates to protect itself, They also highlighted the health effects of the drug, saying that each year, thousands of people die from tobacco-related products and that it's within a tobacco company’s interest to get young people to become users of their product.
