Gaza, Sep 24: At least 36 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday as Israeli forces pounded Gaza from air and ground, even as world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) demanded an immediate halt to the two-year conflict.
Satellite imagery analysed by Al Jazeera shows Israeli armoured units tightening their grip on Gaza City, with tanks entering the Nassr neighbourhood less than a kilometre from al-Shifa Hospital. The UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR) warned that the assault is “inflicting terror on the Palestinian population” and forcing tens of thousands to flee.
