NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A quiet weekday at Toad's Place quickly turned it into the center of attention in Connecticut after the Foo Fighters' surprise announcement on Monday that they would be playing a pop-up show there the following day.
“Everything’s gone nice and calm, everyone’s been great with the crew. They’re great guys," Toad's Place general manager Ed Dingus said of the band's first time at the iconic venue. “It’s incredible, kind of a once-in-a-lifetime thing for a club like us to get a band like them in here. So we’re super excited about it.”
Fans wasted no time in racing to the venue to purchase $30 tickets at the window, both the price and means of purchase a nod to how it was three decades ago when the rock band was in its infancy.
