WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was killed in Walton County on Tuesday in a chain-reaction wreck caused by someone crossing Hwy. 138, according to Georgia State Patrol.

GSP said in a statement that the crash began when a car crossing Hwy. 138 from Forrester Cemetery Road "failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign," hitting a Ford F-350 truck on its passenger side.

That caused the Ford truck to veer left into the next lane, hitting a 1993 Corvette from its trailer on the driver's side. The driver of that Corvette died.

No identifying information about the victim was available from GSP.

The Walton County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook about the wreck and the extended shutdown of Hwy. 138 on Tuesday, but did not have additional details about any of the drivers involved.
