The case centers on Alexys Barton, who pleaded guilty on Sept. 15 to vehicular homicide by recklessness, a news release from Clark’s office said.
The release said Barton crossed into oncoming traffic on July 27, 2023, killing 44-year-old Christopher Phillips, who was driving a motorcycle, in a head-on crash.
Assistant District Attorney Brad Prewitt, who prosecuted Barton alongside DUI Coordinator Kevyn Witzel, said “a single poor decision by one person can have an enormous impact on the lives of others.”
