PITTSBURGH - Two students at Pittsburgh’s Carrick High School were hospitalized with stab wounds and a third sustained a minor laceration after a fight at the school. A male student was taken into custody.

Pittsburgh Public Safety officials said police, fire, and EMS responded to the school on Wednesday morning for what was described as a "critical incident." The school was placed on lockdown.

Two students were transported by Pittsburgh EMS to a local hospital for stab wounds to their abdomen, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety. A third student was treated at the scene for a minor laceration and released.

A male student was taken into custody at the scene. He sustained a laceration to his hand and was treated by medics at the school before being taken to police headquarters.
