LEBANON, Mo. - Bass Pro Shops and White River Marine Group are bringing more production to the Ozarks as part of their venture to acquire the water sports brand Hobie.
The move will relocate all of Hobie's manufacturing from Mexico to Lebanon, Missouri.
Bass Pro Shops, along with its boat-building arm White River Marine Group, made the announcement via a press release on Wednesday, September 24th, saying it "plans to bring production and jobs back to America's heartland."
The company says adding another brand to its portfolio is expected to create new jobs and boost the local economy.
Known for its kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and catamarans, Hobie was founded in 1950 by Hobie Alter, a pioneer of the surfing and sailing industries.
