Rankin County Emergency Operations is reminding residents that outdoor tornado sirens across the county are currently under construction and being upgraded. While that work continues, officials are asking everyone to have a backup plan for severe weather alerts.

Residents can enroll in the county’s free automated notifications by visiting www.rankincounty.org and registering for REGROUP. The service delivers severe weather warnings, road closure updates, and other public safety messages.
