Multiple sightings of a school of bull sharks navigating the Swan River have brought back tragic memories for Perth locals and forced the closure of several Fremantle beaches.

In a video acquired by PerthNow , six bull sharks can be seen swimming near the North Fremantle traffic bridge on Tuesday morning.

Governing organisation SharkSmart, which documents shark incidents and sighting across WA , revealed two other sightings had also been reported in Fremantle.

A report from Monday afternoon noted multiple bull sharks, two metres in length, were seen swimming 10 metres offshore in the river near the Rottnest Express ferry terminal.
