The City of Nedlands will ask for more time to complete its financial homework.
The commissioners now running the city voted at their September 17 meeting for chief executive Keri Shannon to ask the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety to extend the deadline for its 2024-25 annual financial report.
They now want to have until November 15 to finish it. The original deadline was September 30.
City staff said the financial report would not be available until mid to late October.
“Due to resourcing constraints within the finance department and the delayed completion of the financial audit for 2023-24, it has not been possible to devote resources to the preparation of the financial report,” a staff report said.
