Henrico County, Va. (WWBT) - On Wednesday night, dozens of community members filled the auditorium at Freeman High School, pleading to improve safety for pedestrians.
“My daughter and I walk to school, and we pretty much take our lives in our own hands,” one dad said. “Just the other morning, there was somebody on their phone, distracted, and she bumped the curb. We are lucky she didn’t jump the sidewalk.”
Another student recalls a time cars came too close for comfort.
“There have been several times where me, my brother and mom were almost hit by these cars,” a Henrico Student said.
Three Chopt District Board of Supervisors Misty Roundtree and Tuckahoe District’s BOS Jody Rogish led the meeting. The tragic death of 11-year-old Dania Bashier, who died while trying to cross Three Chopt
