BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Bakersfield Christian High School Frosh-Soph Girl's Volleyball team has released a statement on the game they forfeited to Ridgeview High School on Tuesday.
In a statement from Bakersfield Christian High School, the school affirmed its decision to forfeit the game is in alignment with the school's policy and deeply held religious beliefs, further going on to say, quote, "We affirm the biblical view that sex is determined by God at conception. We believe God created each person as male or female, and that this distinction is purposeful, good, and not subject to individual preference or change."
The release goes on further, saying, "While we respect CIF as a governing body for high school athletics, we do not agree with or conform to the rules and policies
