STANTONSBURG, N.C. (WITN) - With the Stantonsburg police department set to disband next week, a Congressman is hoping to help. But at this point, we’re being told by a police officer that the offer is not being accepted.
Back on September 10th , we told you that the Town of Stantonsburg voted to disband the town’s police department effective October 1st.
The Town said it was in the interest of being fiscally responsible and for the long-term well-being of the community.
First District Democrat Congressman Don Davis has reached out to the town, offering to explore ways to keep the police department and seeking a meeting with town officials.
