SAPPINGTON — The boys soccer teams from De Smet and Lindbergh played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday in St. Louis High School Champions League play at Lindbergh High.

But each team came away with far different feelings about the result.

De Smet, which controlled play through much of the match and played the final 12:47 with an extra man after a Flyers player was ejected, finished the night frustrated. Meanwhile, Lindbergh came away invigorated and looking forward to its upcoming matches.

"The way we're playing, it's beyond frustration really. And I'm seeing that in our players, too,'' De Smet coach Josh Klein said. "Last week (in the CBC Tournament), we lost a couple of games and then tonight. ... The way we're playing is beyond frustrating and it needs to be fixed urgently.
