A body has been found at a waste facility in Billingham . Cleveland Police officers were called to the SUEZ waste facility, in Haverton Hill Road, at around 1.45pm on Wednesday, September 24.

Now an investigation is ongoing to identify the body and the circumstances surrounding how it came to be at the facility. SUEZ has confirmed the energy-from-waste facility at Haverton Hill is currently closed.

Cleveland Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the sex and age of the person. The force has confirmed that there is a scene in place at the waste site. However, there is no visible police presence from the public road.
